Set UV Layer On Selected Objects

0 ratings

A simple Blender 2.8+ add-on to synchronize/add/select the active UV layer of the active object to the all of the objects in the selection.

No longer do you need to join multiple objects and separate to create UV layers for all of them!

Select multiple objects at once, give them all a new UV layer, and unwrap/pack them together for a light map or other shared texture! Keep vertex indices intact and avoid losing per object data from joining!

The basic logic is as follows:

-Select multiple objects:
--If Active_UV_Layer from Active_Object exists in Selected_Object:
---Select UV_Layer in Selected_Object
-Else:
--If Selected_Object has less than 8 UV_Maps:
---Create new UV_Map with the same name as Active_UV_Layer in Selected_Object
---Make new UV_Map the Active_UV_Layer in Selected_Object
